DPTUR – Tourist Police Station
Location: The Tourist Police Station (DPTUR) is located on the arrivals floor of Salgado Filho International Airport (Av. Severo Dullius, 90010, São João Neighborhood, Porto Alegre, RS). Managed by Fraport Brasil, it serves to assist tourists and investigate crimes against them.

DPTUR works closely with the Federal Police, airlines, and other public agencies to handle cases involving tourists and the airport community. They investigate crimes such as theft, fraud, and lost documents, and provide support in situations requiring consular contact.

With a 24-hour, multilingual staff experienced in handling international cases, DPTUR officers speak English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian. They can also provide on-call assistance to other police stations in the state to support foreign visitors.

When to Contact DPTUR:

  • If you’re a victim of a crime, such as theft or fraud.
  • To report lost documents necessary for boarding or travel.
  • For support in contacting consulates.
  • When tourists are involved in cases where they are accused of crimes.

Safety Tips for Tourists:

  • Keep a close eye on your belongings. Don’t leave valuables like wallets, phones, or tablets unattended, even briefly.
  • Carry minimal cash and avoid placing wallets in back pockets. If someone tries to take your belongings, do not resist.
  • After disembarking, ensure your luggage is intact and closed as it was when you boarded.
  • Keep copies of essential documents at your accommodation.
  • Be cautious with strangers in public, especially in open-air cafes or while using ATMs. Avoid prolonged conversations with unknown individuals.
